Simplified User Guidance
Allplan 2009 Engineering offers a wealth of powerful new functions for reinforcement design. These are easy to use via properties palettes and allow, for example, bar shapes to be amended. There are also palettes for the placement of reinforcements. A new process bar enables more flexible work processes between bar shape, placement and labeling. The modern, palette-based user interface makes for a shorter learning curve for new users and optimizes work processes for experienced users.
Optimized Data Exchange
As well as the PDF and IFC standard formats plus DWG, DXF and DGN formats, Allplan 2009 Engineering contains new interfaces for the Rhino, VRML and Maxwell Render 3D formats. Data transfer from Allplan to the CINEMA 4D visualization software has also been improved, which is particularly useful if you want to check how a structure fits into the surrounding area. Furthermore, predefined exchange favorites make it easier to exchange DWG and DXF files. This facility ensures all design partners have access to the required settings.
Improved Design Management
The new design structure in Allplan 2009 Engineering enables flexible,hierarchical structuring of designs, for example after design phases for item design, general arrangement (GA) design and reinforcement design. The new version comes with several predefined design structures. Clarity, in particular when dealing with a large number of designs, has been considerably improved and organization has been simplified.
Easy Design Archiving
For the first time ever, Allplan 2009 Engineering now offers the option of archiving designs in PDF/A format. PDF/A is an ISO standard that ensures the legibility of electronic documents for many years and helps you meet the legal requirements for long-term retention in a fast, easy and cost effective way. PDF/A documents can be created in Allplan 2009 Architecture without additional tools - you simply select the desired format.

Energy Consulting made Easy
Allplan 2009 Engineering offers a wide range of tools for energy consulting, from designing photovoltaic and thermal solar systems to calculating the heating requirements of buildings. With the optional energy performance certificate module, you can derive energy-related and ecological data directly from the building model based on country-specific standards (Germany, Austria, France, Italy) and thus create the legally required energy performance certificate.

More Efficient Reinforcement Design
Allplan 2009 Engineering facilitates unrestricted, interactive GA and reinforcement design, which is especially advantageous for individually designed construction projects. You can manipulate isometric views, elevations or sections in floor or ceiling plans as required in order to create a spatial model. The system automatically transfers GA and reinforcement modifications to all plans and lists. The interaction of component-oriented GA design, formwork finder technology, predefined reinforcement groups and intelligent fixtures is of immense practical value. Other new features include enhanced functions for circular and spiral reinforcements, which now also support bar shapes and per meter placement mode.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Allplan 2009 is the integrated solution for architects, engineers and building services that facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration between design partners. In the new version, this interaction has been simplified through numerous functions. As an engineer or designer, you will find it is now even easier to derive your GA design from the architectural model and to add information regarding heating, ventilation, sanitary and electrical systems. Coordination processes are therefore optimized and design quality is enhanced. Interaction between the CAD system and the statics software from Nemetschek Frilo or Nemetschek Scia has also been further optimized in the new version. Story heights from Allplan can now be transferred to the Frilo building model - the detour via the Frilo plate program is a thing of the past. In Scia Engineer, the algorithm for deriving the structural system has also been further improved.
Structural meets Civil Engineering
The digital terrain model in the new version supports up to 300,000 points and can be used for larger projects without time-consuming reduction of data quantities. Survey data can now be imported with alphanumeric point labels. Correct projection of aerial photos onto the digital terrain model makes it possible to represent the area surrounding a construction project realistically.
Impressive Design Documents
The new version contains additional options for the collision-free arrangement of reinforcement and label texts, making it easy to create high-quality designs that are easy to read.
